Welcome to KEEZHALAN. Keezhalan is Malayalam ( a Dravidian language spoken by people living and originating from the South Indian state of Kerala) word that can be loosely translated as 'subaltern'. But the term subaltern does not necessarily represent the real meaning of keezhalan. Keezhalan represents the negative and positive aspects of the life of a subaltern at the same time. Its about discrimination, humiliation, contempt, exclusion and over and above everything irrelevance. The word also represents the positive elements like oneness of the subalterns, the courage which comes from the realisation that you have nothing to lose. Being a keezhalan does not necessarily mean that you belong to a weaker section of the society. Keezhalans are created in many different ways.
Any one who empathise with the cause of the keezhalan is welcome to this blog. Keezhalans of the world unite!!!!!

chanced upon this post. you have a keezhali here to bust the patriarchal language that further marginalise and disregard a group within, to the level of irrelevance.
